Claude is proving the value of focusing on interfaces for using AI. They’re making their products ubiquitous and easy to use, and rightfully getting a lot of use and attention for it.
Some people find it exciting to watch the AI races for which model can score the highest on the SAT. But I don’t expect to have that use case any time soon.
A great model is necessary but not sufficient to make AI useful. The best model is useless without the right interfaces to use it.
Claude has their website, Code, Cowork, Excel plugin, Chrome plugin, their local application, an API, and more. Everywhere I look I see Claude. And its responses are good and it’s easy to use.
I still use ChatGPT and OpenAI more, but it’s starting to get close.
Now if only Google and Gemini can figure out their interfaces and make it work better we’d really have something!
